On Tuesday the 29th, we will have a scout meeting at the American Legion. We will be awarding all awards and ranks earned over the summer (mothers please remember your ribbon if your son is earning a rank advancement). We will also be voting in a new set of scout leaders who will take up office on November 5th.
Because the team from October 19th made such great progress on road cleanup, we are canceling the Oct 26 cleanup event. Thank you to all the scouts and parents that assisted on October 19th.
Bay Lakes is offering the following 4 merit badges this year; registration is open for each - and goes fast. Each event has a small cost to attend and is limited in the number of scouts that may register. Any scout interested in earning one of these merit badges and willing to travel, please look at the registration information specific to the event. Note about the Eagle required merit badges - the counselor is a very thorough woman. She will not pass you for the day unless you have all of your pre-requisites with you to turn in, AND every requirement slot has a written answer in the packet from the discussion/lecture presented.
In addition to the regular meeting, October 15 will be Board of Reviews and Scout Master conferences for any scouts that need them for their next rank. If you are unsure of whether these reviews are for you, please reach out to Mr. Weber or Mrs. Williams. Parents are needed for Board of Reviews - please come if able!
Parents, your presence is requested on 10/27 to discuss the future direction of the troop. We need to touch base with all families prior to rechartering this year so that all troop members/families are on the same page. We will be meeting in the basement of the Legion at 7pm. Please come prepared to discuss these talking points:
There are three dates posted on the calendar as possibilities for road clean-up service hours. Please RSVP your availability for all of them so the troop can see where we have the most available people for this service project.
